Applespiel’s Morning Breakfast Commercial Radio Show: Day Three

October 12, 2010 Leave a comment

Here’s our last day of radio at Crack Theatre Festival. There wasn’t much going on Sunday, so we were told we could go for as long as we wanted. We went for about an extra half hour I think. It was certainly my favourite of the three days. Keep an ear out for some point in part three where it all falls apart.

Big thanks to David Finnigan and Ben Packer for having us up at Crack, we had a great time. Thanks to everyone who came out to the room at 10 in the morning to watch/listen to our show, especially after daylight savings.

This is a project we’re hoping to return to next year, to take what we’ve learnt and turn it into a full performance. We’ll see.

Day three features music from Influenza, Ocean Party, and the hip hop collective of Cranky Mack, Elbow Slug and Ily Turmoil.

Also featuring Hadley to talk about the Year 12 Formal.

Crack Theatre Festival and TiNA 2010!!!

We’re back from TiNA and the Crack Theatre Festival!
It was a seriously lovely four nights of performances, panels, ginger beers and being heaps tough doormen at the Year 12 Formal. No clowns got past us.
Here are some photos from Applespiel’s Morning Breakfast Radio Show! We recorded each of our three shows, and will be uploading them here (unedited) so you can grab some toast and coffee and get down to business in the comfort of your very own home.

Crack Theatre Festival was awesome, and we’re very thankful that Ben, Gillian and Dave were able to have us. Thanks for throwing a great Crack!

*My camera is awful and responds to light badly – hence the orange photos. Sorry! There will be better ones up soon.

Check out the TiNA Flickr page for photos of the entire festival HERE.

Stay tuned for recordings of the Breakfast Radio – and remember, the shows are all made up on the spot, guest speakers and callers include members of the audience who were great sports and played along, and songs from bands we like. Spoons, Rach and The Duff are not based on any real person, alive or deceased, and any relation to living persons is purely incidental.

Here’s the recordings of the first day of Applespiel’s Morning Breakfast Commercial Radio Show, which we did on Friday at Crack Theatre Festival. Bicycles, body image, high school reunions and communism.

Featuring music from Ian and Bennie James and the Hesitant Few.

Also special thanks to the awesome Adam Buncher who does this sort of thing (radio) as his job and so helped us out in rehearsal a bit.
